December
First post of December.
We have gone on a whirlwind trip to South Africa and back again. Uncle Shaun died suddenly from a heart attack nearly three weeks ago and we were on a plane 36 hours later.
These little guys were all stars, all things considered, but the travel really did leave us flattened. It was an amazing and wonderful thing to be with family and the kids got some surprise sunshine and major cousin bonding out of the trip, but we will not be taking the JNB-IAD flight via Ghana again any time soon. It turns out a 17 hour flight with a three hour delay is JUST TOO LONG to be on an aircraft with these munchkins. Tears were shed in Dulles. They were mine.
We are jetlagged and wiped out but grateful and thankful for our people. And for Shaun and all of the amazing things he passed on to Darren (like his love for building, love for family, love for meats, and love for water polo).
Definitely related!
